After school care

We are proud that in 1986 we became the first nursery in Liverpool to provide this service. Trust is important so the children are collected by the same member of After-school staff each day and either walk from local schools or are collected in our minibuses, complete with fitted seat belts.

On return to Kelton the children are given a light meal in a warm and welcoming environment. The entire top floor is given over to After-school, with designated areas for art and crafts, computer games and general play. There is also a quiet room where children can, if they wish, read or do homework.

All activities, including those in the garden, are fully supervised by our experienced staff of N.N.E.Bs and Play Leaders. Kelton Afterschool is an active member of Kids' Club Network and has achieved a level 2 Aiming High Quality Assurance Award. Like Nursery, it also has the Investors in People award.

Holiday Care

During school holidays Kelton provides a wide range of activities within the after school rooms including painting, crafts, model making, fabric painting, candle making and baking. Using our own excellent facilities, such as the home corner room, the games room, the TV/quiet room and the computers as well as the extensive garden.

Children need to provide their own lunch but are given healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day. Twice a week the children are taken on pre-arranged trips in our own minibuses, which are regularly safety-checked and fitted with seat belts. Booking forms and information about Holiday Care are sent out well in advance of each holiday, with places offered to Kelton children first before being opened up to children from outside.

Please note, due to Ofsted regulations, places are strictly limited to 24 each day so please book early.

Extra Care

We also offer care on school feast days, inset days and polling days.

Opening Hours

We open earlier than other nurseries and children are welcome from 7.30am. We are open 51 weeks per year, closing between Christmas and New Year and all bank holidays. Children must be collected by 6.00pm.
